Managing a social media page for a brand, just like any other marketing activity, can be full of pitfalls. Not all the companies, especially at the start, are able to invest big budgets into paid advertising to promote their Instagram pages. Fortunately, there are ways to get your page discovered and to constantly grow the reach, impressions, and engagement ORGANICALLY. It takes time and commitment but ensures attracting people who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer. The trick is to be consistent, social and perform all of those on a daily basis, and 100+ new followers monthly guaranteed.
A lot of people still ignore or underestimate the power of hashtags, yet it is the easiest and the fastest way to make your content seen by people who:
1) don’t follow you yet
2) live at or visit the area near your business location
3) might be interested in what you sell
4) might be interested in the content you share.
You can use up to 30 hashtags in each post, and – not everybody knows this – they can be posted in the comment under the post to avoid crowding the caption.
Thanks to this simple technique, from 25% to 50% of people who see each post on the Instagram pages that we manage, are non-followers. Make sure to be smart about selecting the tags – do not post the same 30 under each post. Try to be more specific, and keep in mind that very popular and broad terms (like #fashion, #coffee, #tbt etc.) are not always the best choice: these tags are used frequently, and it is way harder to get noticed among millions of posts. Also, when making a list of tags, think outside of your area. What news is trending right now? Which events relevant to your potential audience are happening in the world or in your location?
Did you know you can add ANY location to your post even if it’s thousands of miles away from where you actually are?
It is incredibly important for businesses with physical addresses like bars, restaurants, and shops, and also for those who are operating worldwide.
Internet users become more advanced in the way they conduct research: they are looking for the things that are right for them trying to minimize the chance of a mistake. And so when it comes to planning a night out or a family getaway, more and more often they turn to Instagram. Why?
They want to get inspired and discover cool spots – whether it’s a breathtaking view or a wall in your interior everybody takes pictures of – they want to see real pictures taken by real people, not just professional photography and couple of dubious reviews you decided to feature on your website.
And just like with hashtags – take advantage of what’s hot right now. A post tagged with “Palm Springs, California” location during Coachella festival will surely reach at least a dozen of new people.
There are 3 reasons why reposts should be in your content plan. Smart content marketing means investing only 40% of time in creating content, and 60% – promoting it. You may have resources to create stunning organic content for your Instagram, but what’s the point if it will be seen by only a hundred people?
So here’s reason #1: creating good content takes time, and using good content that’s already created by someone else (of course, when it is relevant to your brand and supports your social media strategy) can save you time that you can use to promote it to a wider audience. And believe us, there’s tons of great content out there, you just need to do your research.
Reason #2: anybody would love being featured on the brand’s page. Even if it doesn’t have millions of followers, it still feels nice, because it feeds our ego and self-esteem. At the very least, the person you reposted a photo from will give you a follow, and there’s a big chance he will give you a shout-out in his stories – we’ve seen this happening a lot.
Reason #3: if the repost is from your actual customer, you’ve just won his heart all over again (see reason #2), while showing valuable content and thereby engaging the rest of your audience. Not everyone who’s following you will buy from you, but showing other customers using/wearing your products helps to lead your potential customer through the consumer decision journey motivating him to move from the consideration to the purchase.
